Thread: Intel HD 2000 confused by receiver (video problems)

good evening all,

having problems ubuntu 11.10 , integrated hd 2000 video (i3-2100t) being confused audio receiver (marantz nr1501). set machine simple acer monitor (1080p resolution) when plug receiver connected projector (pt-ae4000u) screen blank.

added nomodeset boot options, , can see boot sequence now, , graphics visible cut off (i see portion of screen), assume has marantz reporting resolution of 1920x540 (crazy eh) via edid.

there way trick intel driver not checking edid , ignoring completely? have been searching forums , web days, options have not made difference or have been specific other graphics card manufacturers.

goal making machine no-noise htpc running xbmc (which thought @ before plugged real home theater set up).

advice appreciated!

nomodeset kill intel driver & vesa limited 1024x768.

half screen/double display seems similar recent forum post (also sna graphics & hdmi recent kernels..).

projector connected hdmi ?
can connect projector direct htpc ?

edid info should listed in
/var/log/xorg.0.log..

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
