Thread: ipod touch 2g backup

i bought used ipod touch 2g. works great , used itunes on win pc upgrade software ios 4.2.1. however, home win partition old , want xubuntu 11.10 pc. looked around here , saw people using gtkpod, installed ipod doesn't show there when plugged in using it's usb cable. don't see blkid either.

saw people here having trouble mounting itouches once upgraded 4.2.1 in 2010 using older version of ubuntu , different repos. there way backup these devices in linux...i have apps paid , don't want lose?

oh, ipod not jailbroken , don't want so.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
