Thread: No audio after AC3/DTS Passthrough

i switched kubuntu 11.10. today tried play videos containing ac3 or dts audio streams using xbmc. passthrough device set iec958 (alsa). systems default audio output music, event sounds, ... should iec958.
can play music until start play video in xbmc , sound passed through iec958. seems alsa not reuse device if playback in xbmc stopped. applications witch force use of iec958 able play audio.

there way resolve problem?

, play firstly 5.1 dts (from xbmc) passed through iec958...


have sound corectly decoded receiver. secondly if play 5.1 dts file have again sound corectly decoded receiver.

tricky part came now, if play 5.1 ac3 file, receiver see 2.0 (stereo). , on, every type of audio (dts, ac3, aac, mp3, 2.0 5.1 6.1 7.1 maybe others) try play, results in lack of sound.

linux or xbmc issue?
