Thread: No authentication requested on Update Manager

ubuntu 11.10:

after clicking install button, update manager proceeds download , install without asking authentication. not expected. have not used sudo operations in session. normal behavior?

noticed: no more indication of download speed, remaining time estimate, or count of packages downloaded.

this normal behaviour - if update manager needs install new though should prompt password.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
