Thread: Ubuntu 11.10 Not detecting devices

hello,
ran lot of updates on machine , won't detect anything, excluding mouse , keyboard, plug in it. i've tried slotting in 2.5" haddrive in front port, tried plugging in digital camera usb slot, , tried plugging in web cam. nothing on of them. plugged in cell phone (nokia nuron) , found that. appreciative.

edit: able webcam , camera detected now. still can't 2.5" drive deteced.

can plug drive in , @ dmesg?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
