Windows 7 and Univers type I fonts

dear all,

 

i have install 2 univers fonts bought 4 years ago update our vcards. have both .pfm , .pfb files in single folder (4 files in total).

i double clicked .pfm , clicked 'install'. task performed admin.

 

the univers 45 installed nicely , shows in indesign. univers 65 installes nicely without error, when looking @ c:\windows\fonts\, font isn't there , 'missing font error' indesign on opening vcard.

 

when re-installing .pfm, windows tells me font installed. if choose replace, same error in indesign , font not show up.

when looking @ c:\windows\fonts\ during installation of font, 2 files pop 1 second , removed.

when trying truetype version of same font, behaves same.

 

i tried on 3 machines (32 bit twice, other 64 bit) same result. tried copy pfm , pfb files c:\windows\fonts\, same result.

 

any other idea?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
