Acrobat 11 VERY slow

this weird. new ultra-skookum powerbook 16 gb of ram , 512 gb flash drive grinds 1989 snail's pace while doing basic markup in acrobat 11. click on , 5 seconds passes before selected. moving callout boxes jumping-all-over-the-page affair. ideas?

i see further reading appears retina support issue - in acrobat not support well. unfortunately unusable on powerbook - well, usuable, far slow , jumpy work practically. adobe resolve in future update soon. have acrobat 11.0.02, current of may 1, 2013.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
