Connection error linking to FLV in folder outside of .swf

our project has 10 modules. 10 directories video/other media in sub-directories within module.

 

one video, however, accessed 10 modules. decided centralize in 1 folder @ root of project.

 

i used relative links jump out of module folder , point video:  ../introduction/intro.flv

 

only issue: playing in window external media, dvd or thumbdrive 1 video gets "connection error."

 

our entire content/dev team uses macs. intro flv plays fine in mac, locally , on external media, , on win running hard drive.

 

we distribute on dvd audience on win. how should structure link win find it?

calling video file linking video.  work in flash player need have folder containing video file listed trusted location in flash global security settings.  dev team has development folders set trusted locations in own flash player settings.  however, target audience not have cd rom drive set way.  may find video not play them cd rom.  major limitation of captivate content delivered cd rom.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
