Export Images as DNG then delete original Raw, or Convert to DNG in LR?
hey guys--
so tried research before asking these questions, i'm in need of clarification before go deleting files.
so have multiple folders/projects need archive make room on computer. big questions are:
-->do first convert images dng in lr, export catalog stored on internal drive, external hard drive? or export dng originals stored, delete original raw files, external hard drive? , after said , done, remove lr catalog?
either way, want clear room off computer while preserving edits in efficient way possible. help/insight appreciated!! tia!

dng not necessary part of process. can choose use dng, or can choose not use dng. reasons choosing dng or not choosing dng discussed in many many threads here, not related issue of "clear(ing) room off computer".
if want photos on different disk (an external disk?), can move them disk. in lightroom, dragging , dropping folders disk in lightroom folder panel. see these instructions: http://lightroomsolutions.com/how-do-i-move-my-images-to-a-new-hard-drive/
by doing this, edits preserved, , photos stored somewhere else. lightroom doesn't care, display photos properly.
i should point out still need make backups of catalog file , photos. need copy of these items on different physical disk. thus, whatever disk photos live on not candidate backup disk.
