FrameMaker Footnotes appearing on wrong page

i composing book , having trouble footnotes using frame maker 8.

 

two footnotes on same page, left page, particularly long. first 1 appears on next right page 3 inches up. footnote 2 footnotes later long, not long not fit on right page. however, program automatically moving footnote next left page. problematic, because want reader able read footnote without having flip , forth. gets particularly bad after that, footnotes in area appearing 2 or 3 pages after page containing footnote indicator.

 

i tried searching information, haven't been able figure out how fix it. there way correct this?

 

better yet, there way structure master pages or styles in way footnote text appear either on same page (on right page) or on same or next page (for left page)?

in format > document > footnote properties ...

what is

maximum height per column:

set to?

 

... , other page content preventing fn stack getting high?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
