in toshiba laptop l750, installed edubuntu 11.10, in cant adjust brightness , contrast.....plse give me solution.....

if normal methods don't work, can run command. open terminal (ctrl-alt-t), , type
code:
xrandr --output lvds1 --brightness 0.6
notes:
1) "0.6" means 60% (thus decreasing brightness). change suitable (1.2 increase brightness, example).
2) i'm assuming here have laptop. if that's not case, not work. if so, please post outout of
code:
xrandr
(whith no parameters).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
