seems first download tweaked installing on mac hardware. how did not come across before?

there major differences? list of what's different? possible patch current ubuntu install cd?

yeah, right. came across couple of days ago , yes: no body mentions annoying. works. 10.04.3 not install on imac (early 2009), due nvidia issues. managed install 11.10 (64bit+mac) versions. kubuntu 11.10 still need nomodeset tweak @ install time. found 11.10 bit ugly , eye candy. coming ubuntu 7.04 myself. try xubuntu now.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
