Thread: VNC remote desktop connection over SSH tunnel Problems

i've tied many time connect desktop computer (192.168.1.12) laptop (192.168.1.13)

i'm using putty , default ubuntu software remote connections (vino)

if , standard connection have no problems. problems come when ty create , ssh tunnel. steps next:

in order stablish connection 192.168.1.13 (my laptop):

have next error:

can let me know if forget steps? or if wrong?

the last image gives clue. try tunneling on port 5902 instead. that's connection expecting. rest same.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
