Which PDF Preset to use when you need PS files to keep their settings?

when exporing pdf out of id cs6, pdf preset should pick when need photoshop files keep setting , corrections when goes print? thought "pdf/x-4:2008" or "pdf/x4:2010". there difference?

you need check printer pdf preset prefer. if have old postscript rip, they'll prefer pdf/x-1a. unfortunately, flattens transparency , converts rgb images cmyk using default cmyk profile.

 

you should printer has new adobe pdf print engine rip. these rips can handle pdf files instead of postscript. printer using workflow prefer pdf/x-4 keeps rgb images profiles , transparency live until rip processes it.

 

choose pdf/x-4:2008 profile supports pdf/x-4:2010 standard.
