Can someone explain why the Gradient Tool is doing this?

i've used gradient tool many, many times , noticed this. don't know if it's supposed or not don't ever remember happening before. can see when use linear setting , change angle to other 0, ui of gradient gets larger. makes difficult edit when angle set 45 degrees. sliders unreachable.

 

i'm using cs6.gradient problem 1.jpggradient problem 2.jpggradient problem 3.jpggradient problem 4.jpg

 

is bug or normal?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
