Captivate vs. Demomate

hi all,

 

i've been using demomate (www.demomate.com) awhile , although meets needs, evaluating captivate.  captivate overkill need let me list few features of how using demomate can't seem find in captivate.  using demomate/captivate show product demo such tutorial of excel:

 

1)after recording demo, can't seem find way have captivate set end user must click on areas of screen progress demo.  everytime publish html5 or .exe, it's self-running.  want output mimick being on software clicking buttons/links/etc.

 

2)can have side window running on published output has talking points or business value?  floating window or anchored on left says "...now going save our file in _____ format" while callout bubble might "click file".

 

3)are there options end user @ run-time disable/enable things mouse, talking points, step instructions, etc?

with captivate have tell before record screen mode want record in. 1 mode demonstration. mode result in simple playback no pausing. if record in simulation mode, captivate insert click boxes pause playback until user clicks clicked when recorded demo.

 

of course free insert click box objects wherever want in order pause playback , have user click in area choose.

 

as talking points, that's possible. captivate, pretty limited creativity.

 

captivate offers advanced actions , variables allow toggle talking points or step instructions off or on needed.
