PDFs are always printed 2 pages per sheet

my system reformatted , had reinstalled.

 

acrobat reader xi (11.0.2) , acrobat pro 9 (9.0.0*) having problems when printing pdfs: every pdf printed @ 2 pages per sheet. resulting 4-point type printouts not useable.

 

word prints 1 page per sheet.

 

i'm not sure start troubleshooting this. suggestions welcome.

*yes, 9.0.0. when accepted last automatic update, acrobat pro started crashing on startup. uninstalled , reinstalled, , very, wary accepting update right now.

run cleaner tool: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

 

then reinstall apps.
