Thread: Binary serial port communication - what tool ?


hi.
need test hardware needs receive 8bytes - not letters
using normal 57600bps 8,n,1 - no longer 100ms delay between characters in burst acceptable, cannot type manually.

need send (for example) 8 hexadecimal numbers 8 bytes:

expample, if paste this;
0x00 0x73 0x38 0x93 ....

hardware reply in same manner
- , i'd *see* incoming data decimal or hex codes, not mess cause in serial terminal.


program /script /application can use accomplish ?

*nix serial ports /dev/tty ports, can use them file , suitable application can read/write file (which every *nix app).
