Thread: Computer hangs while booting up


hello, upgraded ubuntu 12.04 (it fixed wireless problem) , fine until tried remove unity. followed someones tutorial on how remove unity , restore gnome shell fully. after few steps, told me log out , check see if still working. so, logged out , got stuck, rebooted laptop , gets screen says ubuntu , has 5 dots fill , empty. if press esc, gets stuck @ "stopping system v runlevel compatibility"

know how can fix without having reinstall? if press "ctl + alt + f2" brings terminal if there can in there fix please let me know.
