okay, want programs downloading mp3s , ripping dvds. kinda programs that?

i'm new noobie , found book called ubuntu non-geeks rickford grant , phil bull.

have section on various programs such stuff. honest haven't tried them yet have tried in book works great.

1 called brasero disc burner
gnomebaker cd/dvd writer

check in ubuntu software center , should find these , maybe couple others.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
