Thread: Random spontaneous X logout upon pressing enter key

at point in last few months started having strange problem. on ubuntu 11.10 nvidia gt520 video card. once every hour or i'm working on computer , press enter key (usually while typing firefox) screen goes black , forced logout x-org. annoying means working on wasn't saved lost.

suggestions on log file should looking in clues solve this?

this caused nvidia drivers. installed 295. no problems far.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
