Thread: Tex can't find nonstandard fonts.
i use tex, editing out of kile.
tex , preview (okular) kile.
happy tex/kile system.
yesterday, created , ran amstex document.
processed document bash shell using amstex executable;
because kile not include amstex among menu , shortcut options.
[as distant second issue, wonder if kile can extended include amstex
executable among menu options , shortcuts.]
went fine until morning when tried work ordinary tex.
source file loads many fonts not loaded automatically plain tex.
can see attached log file tex unable find font files (.tfm files).
searched (using nautilus) directory /usr/local/texlive/2011/ cmcsc7 files and, yes, there none.
tex never had problem finding required font files, till morning.
[i'm pretty sure thing did out of normal rountine work amstex,
didn't modify environment variables or open files ~/.profile.]
have possibley happened?

i use tex lot myself , have had similar issues on years, though unfortunately not exact one.
that's not working, if create brand new blank tex file in kile, compile, or not that? if blank file compiles, try (by process of elimination) find command(s) in texfile causing problems, if post maybe can more help.
also, have tried compiling in other kile? don't know why, tex document compile in 1 program , not in another. try using pdflatex, open terminal , type
and compile tex file pdf. creates log file, can attach also, if fails compile.code:pdflatex file.tex
