Thread: Unable to resolve internally w/ Squid

i've heard lot of things squid, decided install squid 2.7(stable) on ubuntu 11.10. thought post on forums here , help. i'm having trouble internal dns. reason following error:

error
requested url not retrieved.
unable determine ip address hose name "server name goes here"
dns returned:
server failure: anem server unable process query.

i've added dns_nameservers 192.168.100.237 dns server in squid.conf. can resolve externally , out internet fine.

missing configuration somewhere?

*edit* claimed squid mailing list wasn't helpful, feel made assessment quickly, little after elico responded got couple responses on mailing lists. thanks.

i'm member of squid-users list , havnt seen asking question..
did added dns name server at? client? server?
if it's saying couldn't resolbe ip address can caused config or other options.
try squid3 , not old 2.7
make sure when doing nslookup on sever getting result..
add more info on server.
intranet or internet server?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
