Thread: Unity killed by Compiz!

hi, have had range of desktop problems since installing 11.10 , on previous thread suggested kind of settings conflict. having experimented few settings in ccsm tried resetting defaults start again.

oh dear - unity no longer works - dock has disappeared. tried going classic, running ccsm , restoring unity plugin, had no effect when returned unity. help! key settings make unity work?

oops, had inadvertently set window manager metacity. fixed now.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
