Thread: When booting from a USB/CD/EXTHD can I save files?

while laptop ubuntu being repaired i'd boot ubuntu on other computers in house without installing ubuntu on computers. however, need able save files. possible or reset every time boot?

if saved, saved on usb/cd/external harddrive?

if other things saved on usb/cd/exthd?

computer run slow when booting external device, , how slower?

of usb, cd, , external harddrive, best use?

if save file onto hard drive of computer, or different pen drive (if booting one) files remain. if save them saved ram , deleted when closed. computer run bit slower because read/write speeds lower hard disk in computer.
