Thread: Who decides where in the menus any particular application resides by default?

recently installed 3 different iso mounting tools, ended in 3 different menus, default:

  • applications -> accessories -> furius iso mount
  • sound & video -> iso master
  • system tools -> gmount-iso

decides these things?

logic follow?

it can depend on number of things. "iso" file represents system disk, it's cd or dvd, it's else....

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
