Why can't I drag clips from my source window to my program window on Premiere CS6?

i able drag clips source window timeline, not program window. know problem might be?

 

also, "insert" , "overwrite" buttons not working source window, nor shortcuts ("," or "."). think problem insert , overwrite buttons related reason can't drag clips source window program window. advice on either problem appreciated, thanks!

be sure appropriate tracks both targeted , routed.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
