Acrobat does not edit text properly

can select text , see blue box , cursor on character want change, deleteing character or overtyping character causes line of text move place on page.  unable edit text!..   have tried repair installation routine, did not help.  running windows 7 professional.  running acorbat 8 before upgraded, , edited text better. 

 

how fix software works?

the software fine, it's expectations need lowered.

pdfs not intended edited , when are, results can

quite unpredictable.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
