"edit in" in Lr beta 5

i cannot "edit in" work in lr 5 beta although choices come up. doing wrong?

you cannot access lr5 beta through "edit-in" feature in lr4.

 

if want edit image in lr 5 beta have install it. also, can run 1 lr version @ time, i.e. cannot have lr 4 , lr 5 open @ same time.

 

i suggest - adobe - don't work on originals in lr 5 beta on copies of originals.

to edit copies of images in lr 5 beta export them lr 4 special lr 5 folder , import folder in lr 5.

you can export raw images <originals>. write lr 4 edits xmp, , lr 5 read xmp , display lr 4 edits.

 

if want import raw images in lr 5 without edits copy raw file via os folder lr 5 , make sure copy raw files not xmp files.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
