Need to restrict numeric entry to two decimal places

hello,

 

i have cfform cfinput of type=text. need restrict can entered cfinput allows 2 decimal places. have tried mask, won't work because "99999.99" not allow 12.34 , "99.99" not allow 12345.67.

 

i have read validate , pattern i've never used them. don't know javascript, can copy , paste pretty well.

 

any can provide appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
