Thread: all browsers crashing after recent update

i installed recent updates ubuntu 11.10, 32 bit. in update has crashed browsers. running older version of opera, updated. briefly brings window saying opera needs restart. believe says missing library, although won't stay long enough me read it. chrome loads 1 page , crashes.

i've researched , thought might libcanberra issue. don't see way in synaptic roll these updates. i've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both opera , chrome without success. use in troubleshooting this. i'm decent command line, if know commands here.

update: read possible issue keyring, deleted passwords associated google. (i trying load gmail.) still crashes when trying load gmail, able work when loading ubuntu forums. reported issue flash?

computer remote connection work , need have browser, browser working before monday

is firefox crashing too?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
