Thread: can't install upgrades on an 800 * 576 screen

my dell inspiron nettop mini set 800 * 576 screen resolution. (i have given trying set larger that.) running ubuntu 11.10 , wish install upgrades. after initial phase pop-up box appears informing me number of upgrades downloaded, involves many mb , take many minutes; want proceed?

want proceed, yes button outside lower end of small screen. cannot move window , cannot change font settings; don't know how confirm system want proceed upgrade.

there work-around?

one way right click title bar of update manger , select resize , compress window workable size . option install update terminal .

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
