Thread: DBus error: Getting stuck on boot

hi everyone,

while machine booting, last thing see is:

/dev/sdb5: clean, 335375/27475968 files, 2111047/109889024 blocks (check in 3 mounts)
/dev/md1: clean, 4290219/57999360 files, 8601015/231982814 blocks
and, gets stuck here forever. if click on ctrl+alt+del @ point, says:

unable connect system bus: failed connect socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: no such file or directory
but, continues boot process , seems normal!...

/run , /run/lock directories sym linked /var/* (it that). changed permissions suggested, tried reinstalling dbus, tried removing /run/dbus/* before reboot, nothing helped! gets stucked there after fs check???

driving me crazy, , appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
