Thread: Doesn't start up after failed upgrade. Please help.

well trying upgrade latest ubuntu , computer shut off during upgrade. won't start up, not in recovery mode. i'm beginner of stuff have no knowledge. when try starting recovery mode, lets me type command prompt.

when tries start up, gets stuck on "stopping save udev log , update rules"

can do?

actually, gets stuck on "enabling additional executable binary formats binfmt-support"

mean? how can fix it?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
