Thread: 'You don't appear to be using NVIDIA X Driver'
i know it's been posted lot, , made search couldn't find understand or helped me. installed newest driver 'additional drivers' menu, when try open 'nvidia x server settings' error message.
i've tried deleting xorg.conf , running 'nvidia-xconfig', didn't work. shouldn't able use nvidia's control panel installing via additional drivers? thanks
(using ubuntu 11.10)
i think i'm in same boat here upgraded laptop 11.10. problem see nvidia drivers don't build on 11.10, have linux 3.0 under hood. nvidia's "build environment" doesn't support linux 3.0 kernels. , current open source driver doesn't seem work well. doesn't seem 3d accelerations with. worse me doesn't recognize large screen tv play videos.
