Thread: Firerox will not update

-

i running ubuntu 11.10 on hp dv9500 laptop. have firefox 4.0 beta 6 installed.
despite best efforts, cannot firefox update.
here have done:
-deleted every file , folder can find, related firefox
-uninstalled , reinstalled firefox both software center , synaptic package manager.
-auto update has run several times, saying updates firefox
-installed latest ppa (this says firefox 9 installed)

spent hours on google, trying find solution.

i appear having same problem. when go update blog, i'm being told should update ffx (it doesn't force me to, good, says don't have latest version) according apt have latest version installed already. reference, according firefox --version, have 8.0 installed, , according apt there no newer version.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
