Thread: I broke grub

i installed mineos crux on laptop's hard drive, instead of usb hard drive trying install to. luckily, installed onto of acer recovery drive , not win7 or kubuntu installation. deleted mineos crux drive , swap(18.1 unallocated), , ran install grub , update-grub using usb drive ubuntu 11.10, still tries boot mineos crux using lilo.

using usb-drive ubuntu 11.10 on , working wifi connection, how can fix this?

edit: added boot kubuntu's ext4 drive, wasn't on @ first. though help, i've got no idea if will.

considering still see lilo have 2 options:

1) re-configure lilo & stick it
2) re-install grub

have done attempt update grub alas lilo grub should through ubuntu documentation instructions on re-install of grub using live cd & don't forget chroot kubuntu install otherwise attempting re-install grub in live cd environment

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
