Thread: RAID 5 unknown filesystem

hello ubuntu folks. i'm trying install ubuntu server 11.10 software raid 5 , software raid 0. installation goes fine, error when attempt boot afterwards:

error: unknown filesystem
grub rescue>

these partitions:

1.5 tb hdd
100 gb ext4 mounted /boot
400 gb ext4 used part of raid0
1 tb ext4 used part of raid5
1.5 tb hdd
100 gb ext4 used swap
400 gb ext4 used part of raid0
1 tb ext4 used part of raid5
1 tb hdd
1 tb ext4 used part of raid5
1 tb hdd
1 tb ext4 used part of raid5

raid 5 - 3 tb
raid 0 - 800 gb

ideas? can have multiple raids that? attempt made have motherboard raid messed up?

i've seen fair number of people mdadm issues on 11.10. there reason, you're not using 10.04 long term service release alternate install? set during install, , work fine.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
