2012-01-09_21-47-49_522.jpghey ive restarted pc when upgrading 11.04 11.10 , got crashed , unable ui can able command mode when select recovery mode. unable view normal start of system.i getting error adding attachment...

if got interrupted part way through upgrade, things in confused state, components supposed match don't, e.g. new binaries might looking shared libraries not yet installed or old binaries might looking ones no longer installed. can fix using command line tools try complete upgrade. recovery mode boot , log in. try along lines of:

sudo -i apt-get install aptitude aptitude update aptitude full-upgrade apt-get -f upgrade dpkg-reconfigure -a
if doesn't it, plan b might overlay style re-install using version 11.10 media, without reformatting disk partitions. keep data files, e.g. home directory stuff.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
