Thread: [Ubuntu for toddlers] How to have a "view" on a folder?

hi all,

i'm setting session 2 , half years old daughter. i'm using openbox on top of ubuntu oneiric, cairo-dock launcher.

want session simple possible not confused.

1 of launchers in cairo-dock opens nautilus in videos folder let (simple-) click on video open vlc (--fullscreen --play-and-exit).

i've suppressed sidebar , main toolbar, drop-down menus remain. in principle click on , mass things (and confused).

i'm looking way have simple "view" on folder (i.e. without being able navigate in directory structure) display thumbnails of videos, can choose 1 wants launch. guys know way this, using specific program, or disabling drop-down menus in nautilus (on per user basis).

in advance,
antoine

howdy,

read on kiosk mode.
