Thread: using "bind" to mount ntfs folders no longer works

for years, i've mounted data drive (/dev/sda2) ntfs under /data.

have full read-write permissions on /data.

i've used fstab mount data folders appropriate locations in home folder:

code:
/data/documents /home/user/documents none bind 0 0
since latest lot of distros ubuntu 11.10, mint 12, , chakra, i'm running now, no longer works, /home/user/documents owned root , can't save files it!

i've tried using chown , chmod, , seems work, doesn't change permissions when check ls -l.

it's still ntfs file system, of course chown or chmod won't work, filesystem isn't able handle permissions.

kind of mount options using mount ntfs partition in first place? , have tried adding such options bind line in fstab mount correct permissions , ownership?
