To Cloud or not to Cloud (Nikon D7100)

i have nikon d7100 , posted awhile ago camera raw.  went , purchased cloud have cs6 since previous copy of cs5 not going updated contain d7100 camera profile. 

 

so i've been using cloud , cs6 , wondering if need can have photos load in adobe bridge.  yes, it's convenient have them in there have click on camera raw, i'm not sure monthly cost worth it.  don't use of other adobe products come monthly payment.  no, don't use lightroom.  casual photographer, trying better of course, i'm wondering if need this!

 

i tried using viewnx2 open raw photos.  saved photos *.tiff , opened cs5 adobe bridge , voila.  works.  can tell me if i'm missing out on doing way?  seems avoid monthly cost going workflow.

yes missing out lot because impression don't know yet benefit of shooting raw on jpeg. learning curve can made steep want can tell shooting raw , save tiff without having used options provided acr , photoshop out of not best workflow.

 

raw data captured sensor in camera , need raw converter image out of it. see of raw file on of camera jpeg preview included in raw file. converters give kind of start want own 'signature' images , needs skills , knowledge. shooting jpeg letting camera work you. if pleased fine, making changes or corrections in jpeg file far more limited compared raw file.

 

you have lots , lots of different options as possible out of raw file , besides that, color temperature added in converter wish without colors getting shifted (as in jpeg file if correct much) , plus or minus 1 stop exposure not giving trouble. said, need raw converter , knowledge. bridge start , there make selection keepers, open in acr, make changes , finishing touch made in ps. save file format , use bridge last metadata, keywords, renaming etc.

 

i don't know nikon's viewnx2 canon user suspect not different canon photo professional. me vendor software utterly useless due slow performance , unproductive workflow, combined less options make image.

 

it comes down needs , wishes. can't @ budget there seems possibility subscribe ps (check education section of adobe) in creative cloud.

 

and if have trial version of cc running sure check version of acr. use photoshop / plug in / camera raw. should 7.4 , version opens d7100 nef files
