FlashPlayer Download always times out

as far can tell, either adobe has bugs in download site or have inadequate server , or network capacity.  have tried 5 times download latest version of flashplayer , each time has timed out during download of actual update (i.e. post initiation phase).

every time see notification flashplayer update, start twitch!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
