How do I open raw files from my Canon 6D in Photoshop CS5.1?

just tried open raw files canon 6d in photoshop cs5.1. error message appeared: "

could not complete request because file appears camera model not supported installed version of camera raw.

please visit camera raw documentation additional information." there simple solution?

you cannot, nor ever able open canon raw files directly in cs5.1.  camera model requires @ least acr 7.3 works cs6, or lightroom 4.3.  there no further updates cs 5.1 ever.

 

your choices (1) upgrade cs6, or (2) download latest version of adobe dng converter, 7.4, , convert canon raw files raw dng files can open in cs5.1.

 

you should know rendering in acr 7.4 far superior tou raw conversion in acr 6.x, leaving lot of image quality on table if go (free) dng conversion route.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
