ID CS6 RGB objects set to overprint = KO in PDF
hello:
while wait on phone adobe support (+60 minutes now) thought i'd post here see if in community had feedback on topic.
we discovered objects created rgb build set overprint in indesign end ko type in exported pdf file. i'm trying find out if expected behavior or if type of bug in cs6. ocurs when colors must converted cmyk or spot color, such when exporting x1a.
from technical standpont, rgb objects set overprint tagged 'opm 0' , cmyk objects tagged 'opm 1'
from our enfocus resources:
there 2 “overprint modes”:
- standard overprint mode, known “opm 0”
- illustrator overprint mode, known “opm 1” or “nonzero overprint mode”
the difference between both modes lies in effect of tint value 0 1 of cmyk inks:
- in standard overprint mode (opm 0), tint value 0 of 1 of cmyk inks in foreground object has knockout effect on color rendering of underlying object. in other words, foreground ink c, m, y or k value of 0 % erases corresponding background ink. here, “foreground inks win” principle applies.
- in illustrator overprint mode (opm 1), tint value 0 neutral: ignored (as if “not specified”) , has therefore no effect on color rendering of underlying object.
i don't have answer question, but, interestingly enough, saw dialog in indesign relates this.
i opened file set digital publishing intent in cs6. sets following: (a) swatches set rgb, (b) transparency blending space rgb, (c) ruler units pixels, (d) default page sizes tablets , smartphones.
when chose overprint preview (on file didn't create), got dialog:
this suggests me issue transparency blending space (found under edit menu). might try turning off. if have no transparency, don't think problem because understanding feature used when there live transparency in file.
