hi there,

webcam isn't working in skype , have tried suggestions using terminal. came across suggestion

re: webcam not showing in skype
scratch that.

works now.

found instruction go system>preferences>main menus: applications>skype>properties , changed command there to
code:
bash -c 'ld_preload=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype'
loads video



can't seem find option go to:

system>preferences>main menus: applications>skype>properties

using ubuntu 11.10. right in assuming menus available in classic desktop of ubuntu? have attempted session fallback command in terminal install fails can't find package on drive e

does webcam work in cheese? if so, try opening terminal , enter command:
bash -c 'ld_preload=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype'

might need install cheese software centre. provides simple picture-taking , recording video webcam.

or, click on dash , search "menu" main menu program.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
