Thread: How to reinstall unity after I've broken it

hello

messing nvidia optimus things, , decided remove nvidia driver using "remove -purge nvidia*" , somehow ubuntu-desktop , maybe few others important packages removed. when log in in unity see window menu @ top , no launcher or indicators.
how can reinstall unity?

p.s. writing using gnome3
p.p.s. ubuntu 11.10

first recommend reinstalling nvidia drivers using proprietary drivers in system settings, open terminal , type (when logged unity session)
unity --reset

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
