Thread: Network bandwidth is consumed when I launch Transmittion

hello , happy new year

having following problem transmition. after few seconds or couple of minutes consumes bandwidth.

when not download or upload anything!!

when try else, simple page, seems network down. if blocks port , allows send or receive.

don't use bandwidth, if did, expect when used chrome or other browser see page, allow me @ least "sneak" through request , display page. instead makes computer act if there no connection @ all.

transmition though has no problem in sending , receiving...

have idea should do?

what helped me changing port number transmission uses (pick @ random) , enabling blocklist:

click edit -> preferences -> privacy, add url below , click update.

http://list.iblocklist.com/?list=bt_...chiveformat=gz

also, changing max downloads 2 helps also...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
