Thread: Trouble with hibernating

i've got server i'm trying set ubuntu 11.10 server edition. i'm trying set hibernate if finds no other computers on network. have installed pm-utils , seems suspending properly. when issue pm-hibernate command works fine...exactly once. ubuntu hibernate , come out of hibernation. when send in hibernation computer reboots. i've gone through couple of tutorials on how set hibernation, changed couple of things in /etc/default/grub file (i changed them when behavior didn't change. based on last couple of lines from:

it seems there setting not persistent. appreciated i'm kinda stuck.

have new problem. works when have keyboard , mouse attached. since server run headless cannot work. thoughts on new problem?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
