Thread: ubuntu 10,10 not booting!

hi guys,
when turned on pc today selected ubuntu os load, usually, , nothing happens!
i;m stuck in black screen every time (turning on , off quite few times) , have no idea how deal it.

eventually, i'm kinda worried potential data losses!! if theres way access files please let me know!

lot in advance.

ps: noticed 10s countdown os selected no longer there-- if piece of useful info.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
